2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara by Edmund’s Inside Line?

May 24th, 2008 · 24 Comments

InsideLineVideo questioned:

We started the day on the trail, specifically the Rubicon Trail. It’s a legendary off-road route near Lake Tahoe, California, used by Jeep in the development of nearly all of its vehicles. It’s not so much a trail as it is a series of loosely grouped boulders, ravines and ledges which leave just enough room to squeeze a well-driven four-wheel drive through, or in our case, a four-door Wrangler Unlimited.

id probably get an FJ cruser instead of this. i reckon that this might be the ordinary american car. they look brillant, have a fantastic engine, and make a fantastic noise, but never are as rewarding to drive as they look like. Muscle cars look quick, and they are, but only on the drag strip and circuits. in the corners, they handle like your ordinary every day honda civic. this is what i reckon of this car. brillant, but not perfect

Oh, check the compass vid, then the crv vid. It’s odd that they say the compass is very under powered with it’s 172 hp and 166 torque, then with the crv it’s acceptable with 165 hp and 161 torque… make sense of this please?

edmunds is always biased, they seem to despise chrysler/dodge/jeep. Look up the others.

bought one for the wife, and we take it off road all the time, atleast 3-4 times a week, so i don’t know what this guy is talking about, but i reckon it rides just fine on the road too.

I waited 6 months for mine and LIKE It. If you want speed by a vette. If you want rugged, topless fun GO Sahara or GO HOME.

9.7s to 60mph is terrible for such a car ? whatever

Im glad Chrysler hasn’t ruined the Wrangler. No frills offroad vehicle. One of the last right SUVs.

    They ruined the Cherokee IMHO.

I really agree with you. It sounds like the guy who did the review at the end of the day goes home in his H2 hummer or Yukon. What a dumbass.

“Wrangler feels rough for everyday driving”. LOL, it’s not just an SUV for rolling around the mall anyway. Slow is what goes on the trails so 0-60 in an SUV can be left to the rolling living rooms known as the typical SUV.

I dont give a… I’ll buy one and I’ll never gonna use it off road, but o men Im gonna look fantastic on the city.
How needs speed anyway, when youre ass its in a wrangler?

0-60 times are not that vital, its torque output that matters.

  • 14 JEEPJUNKYE // Jun 20, 2008 at 9:15 am

    i got mine like it

i personally like this design as well, but i only knew with Edmund’s here for sure it is the same model line- it is a bit of a turn off the huge size. They keep making “Small cars” larger, than they’re the same as mid sized. Take the rav 4 for example. Part of what makes it cool is its compact- not anymore…

this new Wrangler is fantastic, but I do reckon Jeep went too far with all the electric gizmos with the JK, I’d draw the line here and say no more.

I can’t believe these pansies at Edmunds scorned it’s onroad handling, my YJ is far worse in terms of comfort and I reckon it’s fantastic, when I test drove a JK, it was like a luxury car to me, seriously Edmunds, grow some balls!

  • 20 slapindannys // Jul 5, 2008 at 7:10 pm

yeah it cool but its lost lots of thing that make it a jeep

  • 21 Charles2337 // Jul 7, 2008 at 5:10 am

Man I like the new design.
