expertise, two ski areas are offered in the upper region of Truckee, California – the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area and the Tahoe Donner Cross Country Center XC. Located 5 miles from Donner Lake and a little under 20 miles from Lake Tahoe, this exclusive resort has several excellent available restaurants, a golf course, and public equestrian center & campground.
With spectacular views that verge on absolute silence, Euer Valley is surrounded by three major peaks – Castle Peak (El. 9,103 feet); Red Mountain (El. 7,900 feet); and Prosser Hill (El. 7,171). Tahoe Donner is one of two major cross-country ski area on Donner Pass, and the Nordic Center is larger and has a higher summit elevation than the downhill one, being the only cross-country resort in California that offers night-time skinny skiing. Snowboarders are also welcome at Tahoe Donner. The resort has reasonable lift ticket rates, and there are rentals available. Here, you will also find a variety of ski programs and a ski school.

Lake Tahoe is certainly one of the most beautiful lakes having a splendid panoramic view. Tahoe is located within Sierra Nevada peak range that stands in the center bisecting Nevada & California. This lake lies in the area of both the 2 states. Firstly there is no dirt of hotels and resorts that can be easily found spread equally all over the region so wherever you'd like to stay you will find a decent accommodation as per your needs. And the outdoor activities are plentiful therefore the matter of staying inside the confines of your room does not arise, this is a naturally beautiful place which can be explored outdoors only.
Like said earlier when you opt to come here at Lake Tahoe for your vacations you will never find this place wanting of accommodation options. You can willfully stay at any of the ski resorts, which are available all across the region. Hotels are also there and provide a high standard of accommodation. Party on a Boat in Lake Tahoe
If you love being on the water and water sports, you should plan a trip to Lake Tahoe. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but there is miles and miles of lake for you to speed around on in your boat. Depending on what type of boat you have, you can do all kinds of water sports with it. You can also fish if you want to or just take a leisurely ride around the lake and get tan!
You can go skiing, wake boarding or parasailing in Lake Tahoe but don't forget your life jacket! No matter how old you are, it's always essential that you prepare for the unexpected. Even if you're just riding on the boat, wear a life jacket at all times in case there are big waves or unforeseeable currents that are much stronger than you. You may feel silly wearing a life jacket but trust me, they can and will save your life in an emergency.

Lake Tahoe camping offers some of the most memorable trails and camp spots in the whole world. The fabulous and powerful mountains of the High Sierras surround one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, drawing campers, hikers and bikers from all over the globe to experience this jewel of a vacation spot. Let's take a brief look at the hiking
and camping in the region:
The Lake Tahoe Rim Trails, north and south, both allow views of Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley. These hikes are both moderate in difficulty, at an elevation of about 8,500 feet.
Marlette Lake is a fish hatchery at an elevation of about 8,000 feet. Hiking up the Spooner Lake Trailhead in the Nevada State Park will take you through lovely, aspen-filled North Canyon to Marlette Lake Dam. This hike is also of moderate difficulty.
The State Lookout hike is an easy one, at an elevation of about 7,000 feet and only a mile roundtrip. The Lookout affords superior lake views through free telescopes and you can take the nature trail which details the history of Lake Tahoe's famous North Shore. Turn north on Reservoir Drive off off Highway 28.
Another short and easy hike, on Lake Tahoe's south shore, is the Moraine Trail. Its elevation is about 6,000 feet and the hike is 2 miles roundtrip and fairly flat. It winds through the forest and along the Fallen Leaf Lakeshore and then on into Fallen Leaf Campground. Find it about three miles north of Highway 89 from South Lake Tahoe to Fallen Leaf Road.
This is just a smattering of trail descriptions for you to see some of Lake Tahoe's wonderful trails. Don't forget to research the weather and your permits… and that campfires are not allowed.
