Trails association receives National Park Service grant

The Carson Valley Trails Association announced this week that the group was awarded a technical help grant from the National Park Service's Rivers, Trails and Conservation Help program. The grant will provide the help and expertise of a park service outdoor recreation planner who will work with the CVTA for up to two years. No direct funding is provided.
The park service planner will help the CVTA make strategies to bring the private and public sectors together to reach the organization's goal of establishing the Carson Valley Trail, a continuous, non-motorized recreational trail system circling the Carson Valley.
The trail will be completed by connecting segments of existing trails to new trails that will be constructed over public and some private lands where property owners have allowed access.
