For nearly 50 years, the Zephyr Cove Ski Club has taught Douglas County children how to ski. Signups for the current ski season start Dec. 3 at the Kahle Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m., continuing at the center Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon, and Dec. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The nonprofit group operates with grant funding from the Douglas County Board of Commissioners as well as parent participation and is part of the Douglas County Ski Club. Combined, there are more than 600 participants.
Douglas County School District buses provide transportation between the community center and Heavenly Ski Resort.
